Liverpool Victoria Insurance ( LV insurance ) for pets offers two ‘per condition’ plans. One is for 5000 per condition for 12 months, while the other is 5000 per condition per lifetime.

The Website for Liverpool Victoria Insurance for pets tries to explain a lot of it’s coverage. It even has a section on tips to keep your pet healthy and about pet insurance in general. They also say that they will go the extra mile to get you your claim through as quickly as possible.

Some things that Liverpool Victoria Insurance says on their site, is that your pet is not covered by any vicious tendencies or behavioural problems if they showed before getting pet insurance with them.

Liverpool Victoria Insurance also offers home, car, travel, breakdown and life insurance cover.

Vet fees- Illness or Accident
Routine/Preventative care- vaccinations, annual exam, spay/neuter, heartworm testing and meds, teeth cleaning, tick and flea meds are not covered by LV Insurance. These are the pet owners responsibility.
Hereditary conditions- is covered by Liverpool Insurance.
Hip Dysplasia- is covered by Liverpool Victoria Insurance.
Death- Will cover replacement price of pet if dies from accident upto 750.
Euthanasia and Cremation – are not covered by Liverpool Victoria Insurance.
Boarding- If you go to hospital for more than 4 days in a row, then they will cover boarding and kennel fees while you are in hospital.
Holiday- Liverpool Victoria Insurance will pay you upto 1000 for any holiday costs that you aren’t able to get back because you have to cancel or cut short your holiday if your pet needs emergency life saving treatment while you are away or within 7 days of leaving OR your pet goes missing while you are away or the 7 days before you go away.
Cover abroad- LV insurance will cover upto 1500 for Quarantine costs, 250 for loss of PETS certificate, 1000 for repeat tick and worming treatment and upto 750 for emergency expenses abroad (ex. Additional accommodation and expenses if your miss your planned trip home because your pet is sick- there are several other reasons where you can claim for emergency expenses). You must follow the PETS travel Scheme.
Quarantine Costs- upto 1500 are covered by LV insurance.
Behavioural problems- are not covered.
Prescription Meds- as long as they’re recommended by a vet.
Dental- is only covered if the dental problem occurred because of an accident OR if the first teeth need to be removed and you started insurance with them before your pet was 16 weeks and the teeth need to be taken out as your pet is over 6 months old. Tooth or gum disease is NOT covered by LV insurance.
Alternative treatment- ( acupuncture, massage…)- this is covered only if Liverpool Victoria Insurance agrees.
Breeding, Fertility, Pregnancy is not covered by Liverpool Victoria Insurance.
Medical devices may be covered, but have to be assessed by the company first.
Lost/Stolen Pet  (Advertising to find pet if lost/stolen/strays). Upto 750 is covered with no excess for Lost or Stolen pet advertisements.
Third party liability(dogs only) – you can get upto 2million in liability coverage.
Accidental Damage– you can get upto 750 in coverage with Liverpool Victoria Insurance.

What they don’t cover – claims that are directly or indirectly related to:
• Pets under 8 weeks old.
• Pre-existing conditions.
• No coverage for injuries that result from: Commercial, guard, security or racing purposes.
• Treatment not recommended by a vet.
• Illnesses or Accidents that happen outside of UK, Northern Ireland, Isle of Man, channel islands, Eire, or the EU countries of the PETS travel scheme defined by DEFRA.
• Will not insure dogs that are a breed under the “Dangerous Dogs act 1991 or Dangerous dogs act 1991(Northern Ireland)”
o These dogs include: Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, Fila Brasileiro and pets described similar in type and characteristic. They may not even be of this breed, but if they’re described to be the same.
o This is described as a type and characteristic, NOT breed, meaning any dogs that have characteristics as the above breeds.
