Canada
Most companies in Canada cover all breeds, however they charge different amounts for different breeds under their various Dog Health Insurance plans.
In the United States,
Banfield’s plans are the same price for every breed of dog. (routine care coverage)
Pet plan in the USA does not cover: wolf or wolf crosses or cloned pets.
Pets Best in the USA: Pregnancy can be covered for many breeds, however they do exclude some breeds as follows: Dog breeds: Bulldog, French bulldog, Boston Terrier, Chihuahua, Pug, Dachshund, Lhasa Apso, Maltese, Pekinese, Pomeranian, Schipperke, Shih-Tzu, Tea cup poodle, West Highland Terrier, Yorkshier Terrier. Cat Breeds: Himalayan, Persian.
In England,
Dogs under the Dangerous dog act are not covered by most companies:
Pit Bull Terrier
Japanese Tosa / Tosa Inus
Dogo Argentino (also referred to as Argentine Dogo and Argentinian Mastiff)
Fila Brasileiro
As well as pets described similar in type and characteristic. They may not even be of this breed, but if they’re described to be the same.
This is described as a type and characteristic, NOT breed, meaning any dogs that have characteristics as the above breeds.
Also, Many companies in England will not insure:

American/Irish Staffordshire Bull Terriers
Canary Dogs/Perro De Pressa Canarios/Presa Canarios
Cane Corsos
Czechoslovakian Wolfdogs/Sarlooswolfhounds/ Wolf Hybrids

Northern Inuit Dogs
Racing Greyhounds
Shar Pei
Utonagan
Or any crosses with these breeds.
